Our landlords have two ways to receive payments for bookings.
Payment by credit card:
After registering with us, the landlord creates a rental management account with our payment service provider, Stripe.
Homelike charges the first month’s rent to the tenant’s credit card upon move-in, to make sure nothing stands in the way of a smooth move-in. This payment is then held and transferred to the landlord’s rental management account at Stripe. It is very important to keep your rental management account via Stripe updated and verified to avoid any payout delays.
- If “deduct from payout” is selected as your invoice payment method, Homelike will deduct the service fee from the tenant’s rental payment. A fews days before the move-in, the first month’s rent minus the service fee will be transferred to the landlord’s bank account. If the fee is higher than the first month’s rent, we will ask the landlord to transfer the remaining amount separately.
- If “deduct from payout” is not selected, Homelike pays out the entire first month’s rent to the landlord. The landlord must transfer the service to Homelike via bank transfer.
When the payment method “credit card” is selected for the first month’s rent, all subsequent monthly rental payments, as well as the security deposit, cleaning fee etc. must be paid directly to the landlord by the tenant.
Prepay:
The landlord must issue an invoice to the tenant so that payment can be made. The tenant then pays the landlord directly via bank transfer. With this payment method, the landlord has to transfer the landlord service fee to Homelike via bank transfer.
