In Germany, the national law applies which obliges hosts to provide short-term (three months or less) accommodation to collect and store information about each guest who lives with you.
There are two ways to collect this information:
- Buy registration certificates
- Create registration certificates yourself
If you decide to store the data of your guests in a separate guest directory, you must comply with all applicable data protection laws, including the European Data Protection Basic Regulation (DSGVO).
Further information can be obtained from data protection authorities, lawyers and host associations.
