Your listing interface at a glance:
There are 6 areas of the dashboard that you should become familiar with before setting up your first listing. First, the menu at the top which takes you through each step of listing process. Those steps include location, details, amenities, photos, pricing, and settings. Next, you can see that each section contains important information that should be completed fully in order to move on to the next step. After you’ve finished a section, click Next to move on to the next step, and then Save Changes to move on to the next section. To the left of the screen, you can see which percentage of your profile that has been completed, and below that, a help section to give you tips on how to complete each step.
1. Enter the address of apartment:
Please enter the entire address of your apartment in the field provided. We will automatically locate your apartment on the map, so the house number must be included. It is important to note that the house number will not be shared with prospective tenants until after a booking is processed.
As soon as you are ready, click on Save Changes to move on to the next section.
2. Description of the listing:
To differentiate your apartment from others on Homelike, it is essential to write an accurate and unique description of your apartment. This description must be at least 300 characters long, but we recommend it being up to 1500 characters, as those listings have been known to be more successful. At the moment, you can add a description in both English and German, but you must at least have your description in the language of the country your apartment is located in.

3. Layout of the apartment:
Here you will enter the layout of your apartment. You can add multiple bedrooms with various types of beds, as well as the number of bathrooms and their included fixtures. Next, you can also add the other types of rooms in the apartment.

4. Apartment structure:
To give prospective tenants an idea of the structure of the apartment, you can enter the size of the apartment in meters, as well as the level it’s located on. Here you can also decide whether pets and/or smoking will be allowed in the apartment.

5. General amenities:
Sharing the featured amenities gives prospective tenants a better impression of the apartment. Please check every feature that can be found in your apartment. Make sure that these amenities are actually available for this apartment because many tenants make their decision based on the available amenities alone. If necessary, you can also add an extra fee to use the washing machine or laundry facilities.

6. Kitchen amenities:
Homelike apartments always come fully equipped. That means the tenant can find everything in their temporary apartment that they need in their normal daily lives. The kitchen is the core of every home and offers the possibility of tenants to cook for themselves. Therefore, it is important to describe the kitchen as well as possible.

7. Business amenities:
Homelike tenants are business travellers. Therefore, a business-orientated configuration of the apartment is absolutely necessary. If parking is included with the listing, you can include that feature here.

8. Extra Services:
Many apartments at Homelike offer extra services. These may include dry cleaning, final professional cleaning, towel and linen services, and a full refrigerator. You can decide whether these extra services are included in the price or as a surcharge. The more services you offer, the more attractive your listing becomes to prospective tenants.

9. Photos of the apartment:
The quality of listing photos can have a big impact on whether a tenant applies for your apartment. Please take note of the following while adding photos to your listing:
- A minimum of six photos must be uploaded
- There should be at least one photo of the following rooms: bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room. If there are additional bedrooms, bathrooms, or parking spaces offered, please upload photos of these as well.
- Photos must be uploaded in landscape format, in order to showcase the photos best in your listing. If this isn’t possible for every photo, please at least upload the cover photo (marked with a star) in landscape format.
- Please make sure images are of high quality, with a resolution of 1280 px by 780 px.
- Since the tenant will most likely not see the listing in person before booking, it important that your photo selection gives an accurate impression of your apartment!

10. Floor plan:
Here you have the option to add a floor plan of your apartment. We recommend doing so, because a prospective tenant can get an even better impression of the apartment. An accurate floor plan in combination high-quality photos can increase the possibility of a booking!

11. Pricing:
In the pricing section, you can set the monthly price and deposit of the apartment. Please make sure that the monthly price relates to this apartment. Here you can also add the number of residents allowed, and an additional resident fee if desired. This means you can set the rent price for only the main tenant, with an extra free per month for additional residents. In this step, you can also indicate whether additional expenses (e.g. water, heating, electricity) are included or not. In addition, you can also decide whether to accept a company guarantee in lieu of a security deposit, as many of our corporate clients consider this a prerequisite for renting apartments.

12. Individual monthly prices:
Would you like to set individual prices for each month? If so, please indicate the price for each month here. We recommend that the price is the same every month to avoid confusion of prospective tenants. If you wish to lower or raise the price of rent for a single month, you only need to change that month, and all other months will continue to show the standard price.

13. Discounts:
Here you can add price reduction to the total rent according to the number of rental months set by you. This discount is deducted from the entire rent and also lowers the average rental price per month. You can add multiple levels of discounts if you wish. In this graphic, we show you the average monthly rent you receive based on the rental period.

14. Taxes:
In this step, you can indicate whether there are any special tax rates for your apartment. Simply add the conditions of the tax based on the rental period and the percentage of the tax.

15. Rental Settings:
In the final section, you can add the general settings of your listing. In this first step, please indicate the minimum rental period, which months the tenant can move in and out, and the exact date the apartment becomes available.

16. Listing settings:
The listing settings of your apartment are very important for administrative reasons on Homelike. Your rent received from the first month will be sent to the bank account you indicate here when the tenant pays via Homelike. You can also choose a separate rental contract and an individual billing address for this apartment. If you haven’t already added a bank account, rental contract, or billing address, you can do so now. If you’ve added an additional team member to your account, you can also add them here as a listing representative for this apartment. The listing representative receives all inquiries for this apartment and is the main point of contact for the tenant after a successful booking.

17. Integrations:
The Homelike team is constantly working on new tools that you can use to manage your listings successfully. At the moment, you can link your apartment to your calendar via an iCal link. Detailed instructions are included for your preferred calendar system.
When you’re finished, click on Save Changes to complete your listing.
18. Send to verification:
If all steps of creating a listing are 100% complete, you will be notified that your listing is ready to be sent to be verified. The Homelike team will verify your apartment as soon as possible so you can start receiving your first inquiries.
